Google Voice Saved Me $50

My company is located near a large university.  For that reason our busiest times of year are when students are moving in (August and January).  Every year I go over my minutes on my cell phone and this year was no different, but his year was not nearly as bad as in years past.

By the time our busy season had rolled around I had fully implemented my Google Voice strategy.  This means anyone who called on my Google Voice number would be directed to my cell phone at no additional usage of minutes.

This feature used a total of 498 minutes.  On my plan I get charged ten cents a minute for overage meaning I saved $49.80.  On most cell phone plans you get charged 40¢ a minute for overage meaning this strategy could have saved me as much as $199.20.  This is a significant savings and could be even more if you find out you don't need to have as large of a plan once you get all incoming calls for free.  I did find some new features on Google Voice that I will be sharing later in the week.  You are going to love them!!
