For me, the cost of treadmills, weight machines, benches, etc. is prohibitive, as is my lack of space at home when considering a home gym. It would probably take a couple thousand dollars to outfit a home gym with the necessary equipment, and that is a lot of $30/month charges. I do agree with your advice to steer clear of these long-term contracts. I was fortunate enough to find a month-to-month offering.
