Do you have that one gas station in your area that is always a few cents cheaper than all the others. I know we do. The question crossed my mind that maybe that station wasn't really cheap it was just cheaper than the other stations in my area. So I went out looking for ways to do gas station searches. I found about seven sites that would do a search and give updated prices. I found the most comprehensive to be on the MSN Autos. This gas price search engine gave the most results and mapped where all the stations were. This was very helpful. I found out that my "low price" station was actually fifth on the list. And while the least expensive was too far out of my way for regular visits the number two station was near where we do our grocery shopping. Since we don't travel that direction except to shop for groceries we now know that we should consider filling up there if we are in need of gas. The only thing I didn't like about the site was the inability to expand the search criteria. If you want a larger radius you will have to put in a different location. Overall this is the best tool I could find for gas prices and may use it to plan some of the stops on my next trip.
