Saving on Scented Lotions

I know there are a lot of women out there that love scented lotions. You get to keep your skin feeling soft and smooth and you get to smell good. My wife loves scented lotion and although she rarely need to purchase it (she is a teacher and gets stuff like this as gifts) I was curious as to how much women spent on such items. After asking around I found that this was, what I consider, a major expense. I began to wonder if there was a better way. What I found was a savings gold mine.

You see the value of the lotion in these products is no more than what you get from a dollar store purchase of unscented lotion. The markup comes from the scent. The thought crossed my mind is it possible to mix the scent in yourself. And the answer is yes. You can add body oil to dollar store lotion and get the same effect as the expensive brands. There were all sorts of estimates on how much out there but by what I can tell two small cap fulls should do the trick. So next time you are looking at lotion ladies spring for the body oil and save your self a bunch of cash.

  • I'm not into the scented stuff, I think it detracts from your own natural scent. I've always gotten complimented for having a 'sweet' smell despite the fact I don't really wear perfume. I occasionally wear 'Beautiful' b/c it has a clean, simple yet femine scent and I only have it when it's given to me as a gift. As far as lotions, I actually like just using generic brand Cetaphil for both a cleanser and left on as a moisturizer.
