The media isn’t the only thing that is in a frenzy. Consumers work themselves into the same kind of frenzy this time of year when it comes to home theater systems. So if you are in the market for an HDTV or a surround sound system now is the time to wait. The increased demand for these items during the two weeks before the Super Bowl causes prices to slowly go up culminating the day before the big game. For the two weeks after the Super Bowl the prices will slowly come back down once the artificial increase in demand has subsided (see economics isn’t that hard). To put this in simpler terms, it isn’t worth shopping for an HDTV or surround sound system until February 17. That is when the deals will be back.
