Do you ever get tired of the constant barrage of credit card offers? I know I do. I just learned about a website that can help. It is called optoutpreescreen.com. The site is pretty simple and gives you the pros and cons of receiving unsolicited offers for credit and insurance. You can opt out of these offers for five years right from the website or you can use snail mail and opt out forever. Doesn’t seem like a bad idea for people who no longer want 6 tons of junk mail a week.

I signed the wife and I up on this site. I had done it before but I think it was set to expire. The wife was getting like 2-3 a day. Since we don’t use credit cards any longer I had to get rid of those offers. Thanks for the link.
On the other side of the coin, I mentioned to someone that my card was attached to a credit line and that I got an interest rate that was at par with the current interest rate. Then she told me that her credit card interest was a lot lower…like 1.9%. She told me that she takes those credit card offers and goes for it. She signs up, transfers the remaining balance, like the latest car she’s paying off, gets the lower rate while she pays and when the deal expires, she switches over to another one, cleaning up the old one, leaving a good credit rating behind her and continuing to enjoy those low, low, introductory rates. Taking them up on their offers, beat them at their own game and not afraid of change? Hmmm. I’m still a one card person, but I agree…why be loyal to something that isn’t in your best interest? Did I just say that last sentence? LOL!
