Easy access to the internet revolutionized the way we shop and find deals.  I can remember my mother taking her box of coupons to the store to make sure we got the absolute best price on groceries.

Now, when I go to the store, not only do I only bring the coupons I need, my entire grocery list has been printed from a website.

With smartphones and tablets the Internet has taken us another leap forward.  With the right apps you can get rebates and instantly pull up coupons.

You can find deals that come to your phone based on the stores closest to you.  With that in mind I put together this list of the 13 best apps for couponing and find great deals.

Best Coupon Apps

best apps for coupons and deal seekers

Ibotta

Ibotta has quickly become a must have app for anyone who wants discounts on groceries.  The program works like a rebate program.  You have to sign up, select the items you are going to purchase, buy them at a local supported store (currently 147 different retailers), and then scan your purchase barcodes and submit the receipt on your mobile device. The rebate gets deposited into your Ibotta account and can be withdrawn once a month.

Availability – Android and IOS

Checkout51

In the same vein at Ibotta, Checkout 51 has made big strides in the couponing world.  What sets them a part is that you can shop at any store not just at partner stores. The process is pretty simple:

  • Sinn up online for an account
  • Browse offers and purchase them at any store
  • Upload your receipt
  • Get Cash deposited into your account
  • When your account balance is $20 or higher have them send you a check

Overall a really great service.

Availability – Android and IOS

Snap by Groupon

Groupon wasn’t willing to sit back and let everyone else run the coupon game.  The national name in local deals has their own rebate app.  It works almost identical to Checkout 51 and also pays out when you hit $20.   You do have to sign up for an account first and then sync your app.

Availability – Android and IOS

Coupon Sherpa

Not interested in carrying around coupons or clipping them?  Coupon Sherpa allows you to pull the coupon up on your phone and then let the cashier scan it.  The app also includes:

  • Store Locator
  • Favorites List
  • Social Sharing (help a friend out)

This is a very smooth interface and fun to share the deal you get with friends

Availability – Android and IOS

ShopKick

Shopkick has it’s own exclusive deals at larger retailers like Target, Macy’s, Old Navy, Best Buy and a bunch more.  It works on a points system.  You get points for visiting partner stores (must have the app open when you visit), browsing certain items in the store and for purchases.  It is a pretty extensive program and can net you some really great money back.

Availability – Android and IOS

SnipSnap

If you use a lot of coupons but have problems keeping them organized then this app is a winner for you. You can take a picture of your coupons and then display them as an image later to be used at the store.  You can also share coupons between family and friends and discover new coupons within the app.  Overall SnipSnap a great addition to help with organization.

Availability – Android, IOS, and Windows

Shopmium

Shopmium falls into the same rebate idea as Checkout 51.  Buy your stuff, take a picture, send it in, and get paid.  This is another good app for making sure you squeeze every last dollar out of your purchases.

Availability – Android and IOS

Shopular

Shopular is one of the more focused apps.  It uses the GPS in your device to offer coupons to stores that are close to you.  This way you don’t get hit with notifications for stores that are not available to you.  You can filter it to only show your favorite stores or categories.

Availability – Android and IOS

SlickDeals

Slick Deals is a deal aggregator.  They find deals from all over the Internet and bring it to your computer.  So of course they put out an app to allow you to do the same.  You can view popular, new, or local deals and you can search by category.

Availability – Android and IOS

Amazon Local

This one is all local so make sure you have your GPS on when using it.  The deals are all over the map with restaurants, shopping, local businesses, entertainment and even yoga.  Includes both coupons and voucher deals.

Availability – Android, IOS and Windows Phone

Coupons.com

If you have been couponing for any amount of time you have probably printed out a coupon from Coupons.com from your computer.  The app allows you to do much of the same.  You can get coupons to show at the register, promotion codes to copy and paste, or even add coupons to a loyalty card.  You can get notifications of nerby stores and bring up store information.

Avaiability – Android and IOS

SavingStar

Savingstar is a rebate program that syncs with your shopper loyalty cards.  Before you go shopping select the items you may purchase and then make sure to use your linked loyalty card.  You have to sign up online first before signing into the app.

Availability –  Android and IOS

Key Ring

Key Ring is a one stop place for all your loyalty cards.  Instead of having all those cards on your keyring or in your wallet you can scan them into your phone and then scan your phone when you check out.  This is a real space saver from having all those little cards.

Availability – Android, IOS and Windows

I hope these help you get some amazing deals.   Are there any apps that you are using that are not on this list?  Put them in the comments or hit me up on twitter @SavingFreak.
