Company History

Andy Levitt, who started Purple Carrot, was a pharma executive, diagnosed with Chron’s disease when he was 40. He experienced a lot of pain, and none of the medications were able to cure him and provide any relief. Then Andy discovered the power of plant-based eating.

He began taking a more in-depth look at the foods he was eating. Andy also noticed how fast-food preparation methods were wasteful and not environment-friendly.

Through these observations Andy started understanding that not only did plants have the power to heal the body, but can be delightful to our taste buds. And eating a plant-based diet can create a better world for our future generations.

All these revelations led Andy to start Purple Carrot to encourage millions of people to follow plant-based eating. Apart from that he also set out to show people how eating plant-based meals is not only healthy and improves your quality of life, but can be a delicious experience too.

The vision of Purple Carrot is to “empower people to eat more plants,” which can help to “improve health, the environment and animal welfare.”
