Netflix has become one of the most trafficked websites on the Internet. Anyone could spend hours binge-watching countless TV shows and movies.

The problem is that there are some countries don’t allow users to stream Netflix, or some shows aren’t released in certain countries. Luckily, there are several ways that you can get around these roadblocks.

If you’ve never used a VPN before, you could be worried about trying one for the first time, but don’t worry, there are plenty of options that are extremely easy to use, regardless of your knowledge of technology.

In most cases, you can start using a VPN in a matter of minutes. There are only a few steps that you have to take depending on which provider that you choose. When you’re looking to start using one of these services to stream Netflix, there are several different factors that you’ll need to account for to decide which one is going to work best for you.

First and foremost, you should always think about how trustworthy and secure the VPN provider is. There are millions of people on the Internet that just want to harm. Make sure to research whichever one that you choose before you pick them.

Because you’re going to be streaming videos, you’ll want to pick a provider that offers plenty of speed. Nothing is worse than trying to watch a show that’s blurry and has to buffer every couple of minutes.

The Best VPN Providers to Stream Netflix

There are hundreds of different VPN providers that you can use, some of them are going to be betters than other depending on what you need. In this specific situation, we are looking for a VPN service that will pair well with streaming HD content. There are some VPN providers that are free, but the quality of the services is high enough to stream Netflix.

Netflix has taken a strict stance on subscribers using VPNs to work around their blocks, but there are plenty of services that continue to find ways around their security measures, which means that VPNs that worked to stream Netflix a year ago, may not work anymore. Netflix is always looking for ways to increase their security against VPN users.

ExpressVPN

Every VPN provider is going to have different benefits and disadvantages that you should be aware of when you’re looking to stream Netflix. If you’re looking for one of the most reliable and efficient providers, ExpressVPN is the way to go.

One of the best things about ExpressVPN is the speed of the serves. The connection speeds that they provide is great for anyone that wants to catch up on their favorite shows. With some of the other providers, you’ll be able to watch Netflix, but the quality of the video is going to suffer.

Another advantage to ExpressVPN is the security. They have an extremely strong OpenVPN encryption which is going to allow you to watch Netflix without being disc overaged and keep your computer safe regardless of what Wi-Fi you’re using. Additionally, you’ll be able to access servers in 85 different countries across the world, which means every show on Netflix will be available to you.

Just like everything else, there are some pitfalls to ExpressVPN. The first is that isn’t the cheapest VPN provider that you can choose, there are plenty of other options that will save you money. ExpressVPN is going to cost you $12 every month if you want to stream on two devices. It’s not going to break your bank, but it’s not going to be the most affordable either.

VyprVPN

Next on the list is Golden Frog’s VyprVPN, which is an excellent and reliable option to get around Netflix’s restrictions or to speed up your streaming. While they don’t offer the same quality of service or speed, VyprVPN is going to save you month. Instead of paying more than $10 every month for the VPN, you’ll only have to pay $9 to stream on one device. They have a variety of different plans that you can choose from to fit your needs. Each of them has different benefits of the number of devices that you can use and the content you can access. There is a free trial that you can use, but there are strict limits on how much data that you can use, and if you’re streaming Netflix, you’ll reach those limits pretty quickly.

As an additionally benefit, the account does come with some cloud storage that you can take advantage of. Depending on which plan that you buy, you’ll get anywhere from 10 to 50gbs of cloud storage. It shouldn’t be the deciding factor how which provider you use, but it’s a nice additional add-on.

AirVPN

If you’re looking to get quality and affordable VPN service, AirVPN is going to be the best option for you. The speed of the connection is going to be comparable to the other providers on the list, but at a cheaper monthly premium, you’ll pay less than $8 every month. For the $8, you’ll be able to stream Netflix through AirVPN on three different devices, which is more than the others on our list.

If you’re looking for a simple way to stream Netflix through a VPN, AirVPN is a great way to do that. Their services are simple and user-friendly. If you’ve never streamed through one of these providers, this is a great way to start, especially if Netflix streaming is the main purpose for using the VPN.

Why Use a VPN for Netflix?

Many Netflix users have been complaining about slow speeds when streaming television shows and movies from the popular service, especially those using Comcast and Verizon FIOS as their internet service provider. If your connection to Netflix appears to be getting throttled by your ISP, there is a way to work around the issue that has proven quite successful.

Indiana University student Matt Vukas published a Netflix streaming test where he tried streaming over Comcast versus streaming while using a VPN. What he found was that his connection with a VPN was significantly faster streaming Netflix, despite the normal bit of latency that is usually associated with using a VPN.

Using a virtual private network prevents Comcast (or any other ISP) from knowing what kind of sites you are accessing. At best they can see data and traffic estimates, but have no idea what the content is that is passing through your connection. This prevents them from throttling your speeds because they can not recognize that you are accessing Netflix (or any other website for that matter).

If you are experiencing slowdowns, pauses, and even outright freezing of your streams from Netflix, especially for HD programming, you might want to give a VPN a try and see if using one resolves the speed issue for you.
