Did you know that you can get free samples from Walmart?

Getting free samples from Walmart can be both fun and rewarding. The problem is they aren't easy to find. Use this guid to hunt down the elusive Walmart free samples. As a person who looks at the world from a business perspective, I frequently think of Walmart as a money making machine not some place that gives stuff away.

Walmart is the king of retail and though they have challenges from Amazon and other retailers they continue to change and be the big boy in the room.  This makes them ripe for marketers to use the Walmart platform to get more exposure.

But you didn’t come here wondering why Walmart has free samples.  Like me, you want to know where to get them.

How to Get Free Samples from Walmart

It used to be really easy to find all the free samples that Wal-Mart had to offer.  They had a single page on their website that listed them for you.

Unfortunately, they have killed this practice and made it harder to get to the good stuff.  There are three ways that can make it much easier to score some free stuff.  So use this as a kind of a step-by-step guide to hunting down the free stuff from Walmart.

FreeFlys

Free sampels from Walmart using FreeFlysFreeFlys has set themselves up as one of the top places to get free samples by mail.  They include links to free samples that you can get from large retailers like Walmart and Target.

The downside is that they do not always catch all of the free samples Walmart makes available.  They do, however, offer the most hassle-free way to get free samples from Walmart and pretty much any other online source.

Online Walmart properties

Most of the free samples from Walmart are offered online through their website, but are hard to find.  That doesn’t mean they are impossible to find.  Check through the different specials and promotions and they pop up randomly.

You can also get clued in on special promotions through Walmart’s social media profiles.  The main ones to follow are:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest

There will be links and announcements of free samples and other opportunities to score free stuff from the big blue retailer.

In-Store

Walmart stores offer events for many different reasons.  They can be customer appreciation, new product launches, or some other random reason they use to promote their stores.  Many times these events will be localized to a store.

The best way to stay up to date with what is going on with your store(s) is to ask a manager.  If they are smart they will give you details on the upcoming store events.

Also, getting to know your store manager will help you big time if you ever have a problem with a product you ordered or purchased.

Types of Walmart Free Samples

I have been getting free samples from Walmart for more than 10 years.  I have seen an amazing variety of samples come across the Walmart website.  Just a few that come to mind include

  • Shampoo
  • Body wash
  • Name brand deodorant like Secret Outlast
  • Natural green cleanse
  • Baby development samples
  • A beauty box (variety of beauty products)
  • A baby box (variety of baby products)
  • Nutritional supplements

There are a ton more that I have forgotten.

On top of getting free samples by mail I have also gotten a ton of coupons through the Walmart promotions.

They include things like a free health screening, special savings on vision screening, discounts on weight loss products, and a bunch more.  I even once got a printable coupon for free dessert, which was AWESOME!!

What you must do to get a free sample by mail

Once you find one of the online offers you will have to fill out a form giving some personal information and an address for where to ship your sample.

From time to time they will ask for slightly more information and make you complete a questionnaire.  The longest one I have ever done took less than five minutes, so don’t feel like you are going to be burning a ton of time doing this.

If you are going to be doing a ton of free sample forms, then I recommend getting a form filler like LastPass that will store your information securely and fill out the entire form for you.

You will also have to wait a while for the sample to get to you.  In most instances, I have had to wait four weeks for the sample to arrive.  The longest it has taken is eight weeks.

Limits and Restrictions

There are a few minor limits and restrictions on Walmart free sample offers.  The first is that they are only available to people in the United States.  So far I have yet to have a friend in another country be able to get a free sample.

The second one is that you can only get one free sample per address. They have gotten pretty strict on this and I did have one friend who lived in an apartment building who got rejected for a sample that one of their neighbors had applied for.

That only happened once, so it may have been something with that particular manufacturer.

Final Thoughts on Walmart Free Samples

Free samples are a great way to save money on items you would probably be buying anyway or to try products that you probably would not have risked buying at full price.

There was a time I had so many free samples of different things that my wife made me stop for a while so we could use them up.

That being said, if you are looking to start sampling and not jump in full force, Walmart free samples are a great way to get the ball rolling.

So whether you are just looking to get a few free items in the mail, or supplementing your spending on a regular basis with free samples, the Walmart free samples are sure to not disappoint.
