Rechargeable Batteries Will Save You a Fortune
So few people use rechargeable batteries it’s ridiculous. The truth is rechargeables can save you big bucks, especially if you have children. If you shop well for rechargeable batteries (Ebay/Amazon) you can get them for about twice the cost of a regular battery at Wal-Mart. NiMH batteries are the most common and can be recharged hundreds of times if you are careful with them. To prove my point on rechargeable batteries here is a quick example.
Many people are skeptics of being able to recharge hundreds of times so, for arguments sake, lets say you get 20 good charges out of a battery. You can buy a 20 pack of AA alkaline batteries at Wally World for about 11 dollars or about 55 cents a piece. You use four of them in your child’s new remote control car that beeps incessantly. Now when those batteries run out you thank God and pretend you can’t find the replacement batteries. Eventually you cave and put four more in the car and then four more and so on. Each time you will spend $2.20. This means if you have to replace them 20 times you will spend approximately $44 on batteries (way more than the stupid car cost you in the first place). Instead you decide to purchase rechargeable batteries You don’t feel like going through the hassle of shopping for the best deal so you just go into Wal-Mart and purchase four AA NiMH batteries with the charger for $12. You charge the batteries 20 times (and get a nice break from the noise while they take all night to charge) and only pay for the electricity which will not be more than $1. So you paid $13 instead of $44. THAT’S A NO-BRAINER!! Plus the batteries won’t be completely unchargeable after 20 charges. So you will have to listen to the beeping car less and less until the batteries are completely unusable.
