How Does Panel Polls Work?

panelpolls reviewPanelPolls is a survey site that targets families, and more specifically, teens and kids. They do so because younger people have unique buying habits and opinions that businesses value when carrying out market research.

To become a member of PanelPolls, you have to be older than six and a resident of the United States. Note that children between the ages of six and seventeen need their parents’ consent to register as members of PanelPolls.

The approval process is a firm requirement, as PanelPolls is a member of the kidSAFE Seal Program.

The registration process is easy and only takes a few minutes. You don’t have to pay to become a member, and you don’t have to provide sensitive personal information. To complete the signup process, you do have to agree to the terms and conditions.

After signing up, you will receive an email that will invite you to start taking part in research events by completing several tasks. Unlike many other survey sites, PanelPolls doesn’t have an app.

Instead, the site will invite you to complete a survey or carry out another task by sending you an email. How often you will receive an email depends on your profile and demographic.

The tasks you can complete to earn rewards include watching television shows and movies, joining online communities, beta-testing new games, and more. If you live in New York City or Los Angeles, you can take part in the site’s in-person focus groups. After each task, you have to provide feedback.

Is PanelPolls Legit?

There are many reasons to believe that PanelPolls is legit. For starters, ScamAdvisor marked the PanelPolls website as “safe,” the company has partnered with high-profile companies like Nickelodeon, and the site is a member of the kidSAFE Seal Program.

PanelPolls is also selective about who they accept as members, and according to reviews, there are no problems when members want to redeem their points.

Despite its legitimacy, PanelPolls is not a reliable and consistent source of income. For example, if you are looking for ways to support your household, this platform is not the solution. However, if you are looking for a way to fund your monthly Amazon shopping spree, PanelPolls may be ideal.

How Do I Get Paid?

When you complete tasks on PanelPolls, you earn points. Every 1,000 points are worth $1, so if you have 50,000 points, for example, you can exchange them for a $50 check or a gift card.

Every activity pays out at least 1,000 points, but if you take part in a longer or more complex activity, you can earn 5,000 or even 10,000 points. You can only redeem your points if you have accumulated more than 10,000, however.

In addition to rewards for completing tasks and providing feedback, you can also get various bonus payments as high as $10. While the earning potential is not nearly enough to make a living, it is a cool way for kids to earn some extra cash by doing fun activities.

Younger people have opinions about brands and products that are valuable to market researchers. Answering surveys is one of the primary ways to earn with PanelPolls, and you can make anything from 1,000 to 5,000 points by completing one survey.

Here is a basic outline of how much you can earn monthly with some of the other tasks:

  • Watching movies and TV shows: $5 to $10
  • Rating online games and websites: $5 to $10
  • Joining an online community: $15
  • Beta testing: $10
  • Participating in online focus groups: $55
  • In-home ethnography: $55

As you can see, there are several ways to earn, and if you enjoy playing games or watching movies, you can make money while relaxing at home.

Company History

PanelPolls was founded in 1999 by Touchstone Research Inc. Since its launch, the company has partnered with several high-profile brands like DreamWorks, MEGA, FISKARS, BabyFirst, and Nickelodeon.

The company’s primary objective is to incentivize teens, children, and other family members to provide their opinions on a wide range of topics.

Alternatives

  • Univox – Great because they pay you even when you don’t qualify for the survey.
  • The PanelStation – A good site for having multiple ways to cash out.
  • Focus Forward – Availability in multiple countries and a low cash out minimum make Focus Forward a good choice.

Pros

  • There are several ways to earn money
  • The activities are enjoyable to complete
  • Registration is free, non-intrusive, and easy
  • PanelPolls is affiliated with several high-profile companies in the United States
  • The minimum withdrawal amount is relatively low in comparison with other online survey sites
  • The site is visually appealing and easy-to-use for kids

Cons

  • You have to live in New York or Los Angeles to take part in the in-person focus groups
  • PanelPolls is only available to people who live in the United States
  • Information on the various tasks is limited, as are the payout options
